At Preferred Family Dental, we are committed to keeping our office up-to-date with the latest in dental technologies, allowing us to continue providing the most advanced treatments possible. Dr. Hurst, Dr. Amar Mistry, and the rest of our team is consistently engaged in ongoing education and training to ensure we remain at the forefront of our fields. A wide array of seminars, lectures, conventions, and certification courses keep our entire staff informed about the latest developments in procedures, techniques, and technology – all aimed at passing along the benefits of these latest findings to our patients.

Some of the advanced equipment we have recently integrated into our practice includes:

This cone beam dental imaging system generates high-definition 3D scans of our patients’ teeth, gums, and bones for the most accurate diagnosis of many common dental concerns. i-CAT® technology can be used to design treatment plans for TMJ Disorder, sleep apnea, dental implants, and guided surgery. i-CAT technology also has less radiation than traditional medical scans.

Digital X-rays

Diagnostic radiographs (x-rays) are essential to regular dental examinations. Within seconds, an enlarged image of your teeth and jaw can be viewed on a monitor, providing a clear picture of your mouth and the state of your oral health. Digital x-rays allow for the accurate diagnosis of hidden decay, impacted or extra teeth, cysts, tumors, abscesses, tartar buildup, and/or bone loss from gum disease. Plus, they expose our patients to far less radiation when compared to traditional x-rays.

diagnodentDiagnodent® Laser-Assisted Decay Detection is a tool used for the earliest and most precise location of tooth decay. Early detection prevents the spread of decay, simplifies the filling process, and can resolve the issue before it becomes more complicated and costly to repair.

iTero® Digital Impressions

With the iTero® system, patients acquiring certain restorative procedures will not have to deal with messy, uncomfortable putties to take an impression of the teeth. This painless digital impression technology takes a computer scan of your mouth to be used as a guide for customized restorations, such as porcelain crowns. It’s quick, clean, and very precise.

Intraoral Camera

An extremely small camera allows our dentists to photograph the inside of our patients’ mouths, revealing the first signs of cavities, chipped or cracked teeth, gum disease, or receding gums. These images help our dentists work with our patients to develop a customized treatment plan that best addresses their oral health and cosmetic concerns.

This patient education software is an iPad app that allows our dentists to explain dental treatments with ease. Patients can see computerized images of their conditions and the steps needed to resolve their particular issues. With the help of DDS GP, our patients are able to make well-informed decisions about their dental health.

Televisions in Treatment Rooms

In order to provide you with a pleasant experience during your office visits, Preferred Family Dental has televisions installed in all of our treatment rooms. In addition to making our patients feel more comfortable, these televisions can offer a welcome distraction during cosmetic and general dentistry procedures for patients who have some anxiety or apprehensions about dental work.

A Computerized Office

Striving for a paperless office is a giant step toward reducing unnecessary waste and helping to preserve the environment. Computerized files also help us communicate more quickly with insurance companies and laboratories while simultaneously keeping our patients’ personal information more protected than ever before.

Digital Photography

In addition to keeping our office “green,” digital photography produces instant images that can be easily shared with our patients. Since our patients are able to clearly see their own oral anatomy, they are better able to comprehend the process of addressing their dental concerns.

We have also employed technology to help us exceed the American Dental Association (ADA) and OSHA recommended standards for cleanliness and safety. State-of-the-art sterilization technology ensures that you never have to worry about cleanliness at our office, as each instrument we use is disinfected and wrapped in a dedicated area.

Our commitment to technology is ultimately a commitment to your comfort, convenience, and delivering you exceptional results that exceed your expectations.
